On Sunday at Music and The Spoken Word, I got to meet Joseph Banks. Note right now, if you haven't read his book yet, you should. I read it when I was like 11 or 12 and I still remember some of the stories from it. They really impact you. When the announcer introduced Brother Banks, she told his story of how he was captured by Nazis and taken to a prison camp and tortured before he finally escaped. It took years of coaxing before he finally wrote an account of this incident. After she told his story the audience literally stood as one and the applause lasted twice as long as it had for all the other famous people there put together. Next time I don't feel like doing homework or washing dishes at work, I'm going to remember Joseph Banks, and they I will remember how lucky I am.
