Tender Mercies

Yesterday definitely didn't start out as one of the best days of my life. I don't know what it is, but usually if I make my bed I have a good day. I made my bed yesterday so I don't know where I went wrong. I did really good on this hard test although I can take no credit for it because the Lord definitely helped with like 7/8 of the questions cause I didn't know what the heck they meant. I don't know. But by the time I got home so many little, annoying, sad things had happened that I seriously just wanted to go back to bed. Probably cause I got up at like 4 haha. Wait. I just remembered what happened that made it so bad. I was at work and there was this really cute guy that wanted more rolls, so I gave him some. I mean, come on, it's a wedding, I had extra rolls, and he was nice. So I gave him like 4 rolls altogether. We are only supposed to give people two. So my boss got upset with me and I felt really dumb. It was one of those days where you are walking home and you feel like you don't have any friends and you hate your life. So I decided I would just go and run it off before I finished my homework. Wow not like anyone cares but I just capitalized "homework" as if it was an important word. Not cool. So I go for a run and was like 1/2 hour into it when I hit this really hard hill and so I wimped out and started just walking really fast. My head was down, and I was passing some people so I looked up really quickly and then looked back down. Whoever it was, was just like "hello." The voice was super familiar so I looked back up just quick enough to see Elder and Sister Oaks before I passed them. I walked like 10 steps before I realized who it was. The funny part is that I recognized his wife before I recognized him. Anyway so I go all the way up the hill and turned back where I usually do and I guess they must be slow walkers because I met them on the way back down! I shook their hands and got to walk with them for about 10 minutes. Sister Oaks gave me some really good advice and Elder Oaks was just plain cool. I don't know why this happened because I usually go on my run at 5 and this time I went at 7. I think that the Lord knew that I was having one of those special days. I just didn't think he's send an apostle to fix it. I think these kinds of things happen a lot in our lives, but we either fail to recognize them or we consider them chance. I have been noticing a ton of these miracles in my life lately. Apparently nobody gets a job at The Lion House unless they know somebody that already works there. (They all stood there with their mouths open when I told them "No. I don't know anyone.") God is looking out for us and won't leave us alone. I hope that we all recognize these "little" things in our lives and give God the recognition for them. He truly is our Father and cares about us ten million times more than we know.
